On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Bulqiza was officially recognized by the International Federation of Municipalities’ Sport and Tourism (IFMST) as a “Natural Attractions and Ecotourism-friendly city” In an official ceremony, the International Active City Certificate was awarded by Ms. Lulzime Asllani, the official representative of IFMST, to the Honorable Mayor of Bulqiza, Ms. Festime Mjeshtri.
This prestigious title was awarded in recognition of the city’s extensive and effective efforts in expanding green spaces, implementing environmental projects, and promoting a culture of environmental awareness.
Honorable Mayor of Bulqiza, Ms. Festime Mjeshtri, expressed her gratitude and stated: “This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of citizens, city managers, and municipal employees. We are committed to maintaining and expanding this success in the future.”
At the end of the ceremony, the Mayor released a video message, thanking the IFMST team, describing this recognition as a milestone on Irbad’s path to sustainable urban development.
