On Monday, May 12, 2025, the city of Irbid was officially recognized as a “Agriculture-Friendly City” by the International Federation of Municipalities Sports and Tourism (IFMST). In an official ceremony, the international Green-Friendly City certificate was presented by Ms. Jaradat, IFMST’s official representative in Jordan, to the Honorable Mayor of Irbid, Dr. Nabil Alkofahi.
This prestigious title was awarded in recognition of the city’s extensive and effective efforts in expanding green spaces, implementing environmental projects, and promoting a culture of environmental awareness.
Mayor Dr. Nabil Alkofahi expressed his gratitude and stated, “This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of our citizens, city administrators, and municipal staff. We are committed to preserving and expanding this success in the future.”
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Dr. Nabil Alkofahi shared a video message expressing his appreciation to the IFMST team and Ms. Jaradat, describing this recognition as a milestone in Irbid’s path toward sustainable urban development.
