Overview:
WILDCRAFT is a four-day immersive adventure tourism event located in the nomadic highlands of Kyrgyzstan. It offers a mix of practical training, outdoor experience, and cultural exploration — perfect for beginners in nature tourism and survival skills.
Event description:
Day 1 – Arrival, Preparation and Basic Training
Participants will be transferred from Bishkek to the camp site located near Lake Song-Kul.
After welcoming and settling into yurts, the program begins with an introduction to the teams, an explanation of the course structure, safety rules and training objectives.
This will be followed by a theoretical and practical workshop on the basics of adventure tourism, outdoor ethics, stress management in the natural environment and understanding survival equipment.
At the end of the day, participants will be introduced to a short documentary on Kyrgyz nomadic life and a cultural evening around the campfire will be held.
Day 2 – Survival skills training and mountain challenge
The morning of the second day begins with breathing and physical fitness training at altitude.
The training workshops will include lighting a fire in difficult conditions, building a shelter with natural materials, water purification, transporting the injured and navigating with a map and compass.
Next, participants will take part in the “Trail to the Sky” team challenge. This challenge involves climbing a designated trail in the mountains surrounding the lake using navigation, teamwork, and problem-solving along the way.
The second night will conclude with a debriefing session and emergency skills training.
Day 3 – Field Experience, Adventure, and Competition on the Lake
On this day, the main part of the event is dedicated to the grand and adventurous challenge “The Lakefront Quest.”
In this challenge, teams must complete missions along designated trails along the lake. These activities will include navigating the shore, boating at a safe level, building a natural filter to purify the lake water, identifying native plants, and executing a simple outdoor cooking recipe.
After a short break, the overnight team challenge begins. Participants must design and build an emergency camp that can survive the night. This symbolic overnight exercise is accompanied by a trainer evaluation.
At the end of the third day, there will be live local music, traditional food and cultural exchange with the local people.
Day 4 – Wrap-up, Final Exercise and Closing
On the morning of the last day, the final exercise, called the “Outdoor Rescue Drill”, will take place.
In this activity, teams must use the skills learned to track, rescue and support a lost or injured person in a designed scenario.
