I am profoundly honored to accept the appointment as the Chairman of the International Indigenous Modern Music Committee (IIMMC) under the prestigious International Federation of Municipalities’ Sports and Tourism(IFMST).
I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to the President and Board of Directors of IFMST and the Representative President of IFMST in Sri Lanka, Capt. Harsha Govinda Koralearachchi, the visionary Founder of IIMMC at IFMST. Your unwavering support, leadership, and foresight have been pivotal in creating this exceptional platform for celebrating and advancing indigenous modern music on a global scale.
The mission of IIMMC to unite and network IFMST member countries in preserving and showcasing the unique essence of their indigenous modern music is one I wholeheartedly embrace. As the President of IIMMC in Sri Lanka, I am deeply committed to honoring and promoting the legacy of the father of modern music in the native language of Sri Lanka (Sinhala), the legendary veteran musician, Sunil Santha. His timeless songs and concerts will now be globally showcased through IFMST’s international network, paving the way for a renaissance in the appreciation of Sri Lanka’s rich musical heritage.
I am excited to collaborate with the distinguished members of IFMST in this endeavor. Together, we will celebrate and elevate the voices of indigenous modern music, building bridges of cultural harmony and inspiring future generations to cherish and sustain these traditions.
